Description

The NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety is a globally relevant and respected qualification which over 7,500 candidates have already achieved. This course allows for the development of fire safety skills and legal requirements that can be used in organisations around the world. It also includes principles of fire and explosion, causes and prevention of fires, fire protection in buildings and ensuring the safety of people in the event of fire. Teaching Students a solid technical foundation they can build on through practical experience in the workplace. Such knowledge when applied will not only protect people and employees but property and the workplace in the event of a Fire.

Course Outcomes

  • This course aims to positively influence Students fire safety behaviours and improve fire safety culture within the Workplace. Which, can promptly reduce damages and catastrophic losses resulting from a fire for employers.
  • Provide valuable in-house fire safety expertise for workplaces and the management of fire safety protocols, gaining a safer environment for employees and visitors.
  • Advance careers by obtaining specialist fire safety knowledge and understanding management of health and safety. This ensures organisations meet their fire safety responsibilities.
  • Understand fire and explosion protection and prevention principles.
  • Capability to carry out a fire risk assessment of low to medium risk workplaces.
  • Management and safety of people and employees in the event of a fire and risks and hazards to people and buildings from fire.

Fire Safety (FSC1)

  • Element 1- Managing Fire Safety
  • Element 2- Principles of Fire and Explosion
  • Element 3- Fuel, Oxygen and Ignition Sources and Control Measures
  • Element 4- Fire Protection of Buildings
  • Element 5- Safety of People in the Event of Fire

Practical Fire Risk Assessment (FSC2)

  • Element 6- Fire Safety Risk Assessment

How is the NEBOSH Fire Safety Assessed?

Students are assessed through a two-step assessment process:

  1. FSC1 – An Open Book Examination (OBE) where Delegates will have 24 hours to complete the Examination – This is done so online from the comfort of the students on home or workplace. Students can also complete the examination from the Q1tum Training Facilities with their own laptop etc. if this is preferred. (further information will be provided on
    commencement of the course).
  2. FSC2 – A Practical Fire Risk Assessment. Developed around fire risk assessment standards such as the Home Office ire guidance and PAS79-1:2020. Students are to submit the assessment 10 Working Days from the FSC1 Examination.

This popular Fire Safety Certificate is ideal for those responsible for Fire Safety in low to medium risk workplaces and require an internationally recognised measure of competence in this field. Such as, Health and Safety Managers, Facilities Managers and Health and safety representatives within a business.

If you advise others in any capacity on fire safety issues, or if you are a safety adviser seeking initial training for your role, this course will provide a solid introduction to the principles of fire safety and risk assessment. Ensuring organisations meet their responsibilities under fire safety legislation, and demonstrates a commitment and assurance to fire safety management.

What are the benefits to taking this course?

All Students will have the knowledge and skills to understand fire and explosion protection and prevention principles, along with the ability to carry out effective fire risk assessments. Along with a Level 3 Qualification and NEBOSH Certification.

This course costs £875 +VAT.

This includes fees for the initial registration and assessment, NEBOSH certification and publication.

Are there any prerequisites for this course?

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, however it is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.

NEBOSH recommends learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests. For more information on this please see the NEBOSH Website.

How long is the course?

Q1tum Classroom based courses at the Renishaw Hall & Gardens training facilities begin at 9.30am and finishes at 4.30pm.

This Fire Safety Course is delivered over 6 Days – 1 Day a Week for 6 Weeks, Every Thursday until the FSC1 Examination.

Are there other courses I can take after this one?

Many Students who have studied and successful completed the NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate course, consider the either the NEBOSH General Certificate or the NEBOSH Diploma.
