Course Overview

NEBOSH has worked in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to develop this brand-new specialist qualification. The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Managing Stress at Work aims to help students identify and reduce workplace stressors to create a positive, healthy workplace.

This course will allow students to develop the expertise of HSE’s organisational psychologists, providing them with in-depth, best-practice stress-management learning to make an impact in their role.

Course Units

Unit MSW1: Identifying and Managing Workplace Stressors

  • Element 1 – Key Principles of Managing Stress at Work
  • Element 2 – Identification of Risk
  • Element 3 – Implementing Interventions

Unit MHR1: Practical Assessment – Approximately 60 Minutes

A multiple-choice assessment is completed at the end of the NEBOSH course, students will be presented with a realistic workplace scenario on the principles learnt throughout the course.

This assessment will take place and be marked during the day of the course, do not worry we will provide you with further information and support during the training.

The NEBOSH Managing Stress course is designed to enhance your comprehension of the fundamental principles surrounding work-related stress and its correlation with mental health issues. Throughout the course, you will gain insights into:

  • Identifying the root causes and consequences of workplace stress.
  • Understanding the obligations of employers and individual roles in effectively managing workplace stress.
  • Applying the HSE’s Management Standards approach to evaluate stress risks within the workplace.
  • Formulating appropriate interventions to address stressors, mitigate adverse impacts, and effectively handle the consequences of stress in a work environment.
  • Implementing strategies for ongoing organisational improvement, fostering a positive work environment.

Anyone responsible for managing and reducing work-related stress within their organisation. this includes line managers and supervisors, Human Resource employees, occupational health workers and health and safety professionals.

 Upon completion of this course, students will be equipped with the necessary skills for managing and reducing work-related stress within their organisation and will be awarded a NEBOSH-accredited Certificate.
