Course Overview

A one (1) day training programme with the session taking place between 9.30 – 4.30pm. The programme is delivered in a hands-on, interactive format designed to engage students from the outset. Please note all registration, certification, publications and refreshments are included as well as ample free parking.

NEBOSH has worked in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to develop this brand-new specialist qualification, reflecting the HSE’s specific Manual Handling assessment tools and published HSE Guidance. Allowing delegates/organisations to have valuable in-house expertise and knowledge of using HSE tools, templates, reflect best practices in risk assessments, up-skill interpretation / categorise / communication of the level of risk factors associated with manual handling activities, and create a safe and healthy work environment.

Course Units

Unit MHR1: Assessing Manual Handling Risk

  • Element 1 – Principles of Manual Handling
  • Element 2 – Managing Manual Handling Risk: Identification of Manual Handling Risk
  • Element 3 – Managing Manual Handling Risk: Control of Risk

Unit MHR1: Practical Assessment – Approximately 60 Minutes

A practical assessment is completed at the end of the manual handling course, where delegates will be asked to watch a video of a real workplace and complete a Manual Handling Risk Assessment using HSE tools and templates learnt throughout the course.

This assessment will take place and be marked during the day of the course, do not worry we will provide you with further information and support during the training.
